Income derived outside of New Zealand from some other country within the British dominions, which is subject to a special tax in that country for relief of unemployment, is exempt from the emergency unemployment charge on income other than salary or wages. Dividends from investments in Australia are subject to a charge if they are free of unemployment tax in the country of origin. Taxation for relief of unemployment Is collected in New South Wales, Victoria. Queensland, and South Australia.
