STOREMAN FATALLY INJURED KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR. (Pee United Peess Association.) AUCKLAND, May 8. David Ellis, aged 17, a storeman, was found unconscious and gravely injured lying on the Main road through Takapuna at 6 o'clock last night. He died almost immediately in a nearby house. Death was apparently due to head injuries. Detectives and police have since been searching for a car which is believed to have struck him and which is reported to have carried no headlights. CAR FALLS OVER BANK
(Per United Press association.) AUCKLAND, May 8. Two residents of Waitakere, on the North road, were awakened early this morning by a banging on the door, and found a man, drenched, covered in mud, and bleeding, on the doorstep. He said: "My car went over a bank," and then collapsed. It Was not until daylight that the ' car was discovered at the bottom of a gully 80 feet deep. The driver had evidently missed the sharp bend and plunged over.' He has been identified as Mr George Brewer, a radio salesman, aged 32. His condition on admission to the hospital was serious, but is reported as improved today. STRUCK BY PASSING CAR (Peb United Press association.l PAHIATUA, May 8. Jock Henry, an employee of the Woodville County Council, was admitted to the Pahiatua Hospital suffering from various injuries through being knocked down by a car driven by a Pahiatua resident on the Woodville road last evening. A verdict of suicide was returned at the inquest on Cecil Henry Aplin, a farmer, who was found dead with a gunshot wound in his head at Khandallah on April 16.
FARMER ELECTROCUTED

CHRISTCHURCH. May 8.
Mr Richard Hampton, a farmer, of Little Kakaia, aged 34 years, was killed to-day when lie came into contact with a fence on to which a power line hail been blown down. Mr Hampton left his home at 6 o'clock this morning to bring in a team of horses. He did not return, and his wife found him two hours later holding on to the wire fence. He was dead. The break in the power line was 100 yards away.
