THE OAMARU RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION
I'O THE EDITOR Sir, — I take this opportunity of thanking “ Third Brigade ” for his appreciation of the soldierly spirit existing in the association. I agree with him to the extent that his. praise of the work of the secretary (Mr Neil H. Colquhoiin) was fully deserved. Mr Colquhoun enjoys the absolute confidence of an executive which consider him the finest organiser the association could possibly possess to transact its business in an expeditious, economical and just manner. To the statement that assistance is denied to unfinancial members and nonmembers of the association let mo give ,the lie direct. During the past 12 months the sum of £7B 9s 6d has been distributed among unfinancial members and non-mem-bers. In addition to this, these sains unfinancial members and non-members would undoubtedly receive a proportion of the sum of £l3 3s granted to the Mayoress’s Relief Fund. I trust the above information will be sufficient to clear up any misunderstanding.—l am, etc., R. E. Dimick, President, O.R.S.A. Oamaru, April 27.
