BRITISH ART TREASURES
EXHIBITION IN DOMINIONS APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT. LONDON, April 7. (Received April 8, at 1.30 a.m.) Sir Thomas Wilford and the Australian Agents-general appealed to the British Government to promote legislation to enable works of art in the British galleries to be loaned to public galleries in the dominions for the benefit of those who are unable to visit Britain. Meanwhile arrangements are being made for public -exhibitions of British works, owned by private collectors in Australia and New Zealand.
