A MUSICAL RECITAL

A local musical event, of a character not frequently placed before the public, may, as notified in another column, be looked forward to on tho evening ot Saturday, April 22, in Messrs Begg and Co.’s concert chamber. It will take the form of a trio recital by Mrs H. C. Campbell (piano), Mrs E. T. Porter (violin), and Mrs John Moffett (’cello). The musical capabilities of those taking part are well known, and are a guarantee of the quality of the performance to be anticipated. The programme is a most interesting one, the trios selected being by Tschaikoweky, John Ireland, Ernest Bloch, and Frank Bridge. The greater educative interest should attach to the performance of these compositions in that the majority of them are probably new to Dunedin.
