DOUBLE MURDER

YOUNG FIJIAN’S CRIME MOTHER AND SISTER BEHEADED. SUVA, March 22. (Received March 22, at 5.5 p.m.) The town of Vunideuba, in the interior of Viti Levu, was the scene of a gruesome double murder, a Fijian, aged 24, beheading his mother and his sister. The alleged murderer returned from hospital and found that his father had killed the son’s cow for a feast to the builders of a new native house. The son was so incensed that he became temporarily insane and attacked his mother whilst she was preparing food, almost severing her head with a lOin cane knife. Later he attacked his sister, killing her similarly.
