DISPUTE WITH ’ STEWARDS (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 21. A dispute among the stewards, who had a grievance against the chief steward, resulted in the hold-up of the Maunganm to-day. Several stewards refused to sail unless the chief steward wore suspended. The company refused.to accede to the demand, and', decided to pay the malcontents off. The company intends to engage new stewards in the morning, when the vessel will sail. The Maunganui’s departure has been postponed till noon to-morrow. bo tar the trouble is confined to the stewards, but it was stated to-night that if nonunion stewards were engaged there was a possibility that other sections of the «rcw might raise difficulties.
