CANADIAN WAR PENSIONS
GENERAL CUT LIKELY AN ECONOMY MEASURE. OTTAWA, March 20. . A general cut in war pensions is likely. Ten per cent, is stated to have been decided upon by the Government as an economy measure. It may also be necessary to reduce the civil service salaries by another 10 per cent. The Cabinet is believed to have dropped out of the Budget, to be brought down to-morrow, a 1 per cent, tax on all wages. A new levy will be imposed later if necessary.
