INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION BAN ON OPEN TOURNAMENTS. PARIS, March 17. (Received March 18, at 5 p.m.) The International Tennis Federation decided to ban open tournaments as recently sanctioned by the American association. It was also decided that re-qualified professionals be ineligible for the Davis Cup but eligible for international and other tournaments in 1933, provided they are already qualified. CHAMPIONSHIPS IN AUSTRALIA. HOPMAN BEATS M'GRATH. SYDNEY, March 19. (Received March 19, at 0.30 p.m.) In the autumn championships Hopman defeated the New South Wales colt, M'Grath, in one of the most thrilling matches seen in Victoria, 4 —o, 3 —o, B—o, 6—2, 9—7. The Australian Davis Cup team will sail for Europe to-morrow. Crawford, the captain, is quite optimistic and'declares that prospects were never better for the Australians. INDOOR TENNIS.
