(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, February 17. LAND SALES. At the Corporation Yards to-day two properties were offered, but were passed' in unsold. Twenty-six acres with dwelling on Inch Clutha, near the Chicory Farm, in the estate of the late John Askey, was bid up to £2B 5s an acre, at which figure it was passed in, with the prospect of a. private sale. Donald Reid and Co. next, offered 387 acres of freehold land at Clydevale, formerly occupied by Mr; Ballantyne, but the only bid received did not reach the reserve, so it also had to be passed. The grazing rights of Mayfield Farm. Inch Clutha, 120 acres, for three months, wag run up to £3l 10s, but was reserved for private negotiation-; and afterwards sold at an advance. DECLINE IN FREEZING VALUES. A further fall in lamb and muttof prices for export will take place as front Monday, amounting to Id a lb in thfc case of lamb and id for mutton. First grade lamb will then be worth only 4J4 per lb, wether mutton SJd’ and best ewr mutton IJd.
