THE OIL DISPUTE
PERSIA’S REPLY TO BRITAIN CANCELLATION JUSTIFIED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 14. (Received Dec. 14, at 9 p.m.) The Teheran Government, replying to the last British Note, says it considers that the Hague Court is not competent to examine the oil dispute, and reiterates that cancellation of the D’Arcy concessions is justified. The reply threatens to bring to the notice of the League of Nations alleged threats of pressure by the British Government, which are encouraging the oil company to resist payment of royalties and income tax. A new agreement is suggested for safeguarding Persian interests. LIMITING PRODUCTION. AN AGREEMENT REACHED. PARTS, December 1-1. (Received Dec. 14, at 11 p.m.) British, Dutch, American and Rumanian oil interests have reached alt agreement on the measures necessary to balance the production of oil with the demand. Rumania agreed to limit her production to 18,500 tons a day for three months from January 1.
