The report for tjie past year recorded many very enjoyable social events and a satisfactory balance sheet. A New Zealand Rugby football' team had been formed in Toronto, playing the English j code. The team had met with fair sue- j cess, and with the coming spring season | would no doubt bold its own with any j of the teams in the competition. The seasons were confined to about six play-' ing Saturdays in the spring and eight in the fall. The League is made up of 12 teams, composed mostly of exEnglish players. The New Zealand team lacked numbers, having just a bare IS or so to choose from. In face of these facts, the team was to be congratulated on its performance for the first year. Mr C. M. Reid (Dunedin) capably per- i formed the : duties. of. captain, Mr A, J. j.

Carson filled the position of vicecaptain. It was decided to open this year’s activities with a dance, to be held in the Alexandra ballroom of the King Edward Hotel, on December 9. Mr W. J. Stewart, Mayor of Toronto, signified his intention of being present. It was interesting to note that there were about 90 New Zealanders residing in Ontario. Any New Zealanders passing through Tpronto, or going there to settle can rest assured of a very hearty welcome from the association members.
