PORT CHALMERS NEWS

SCHOOL CONCERT A delightful entertainment was given by pupils from the Port Chalmers School last night before an audience which filled the Town Hall to capacity. The programme was a varied one, and the small performers deserved the reception they received from an audience which fully appreciated their efforts. The pupils who contributed to the programme were trained by two of the teachers (Misses M. Morgan and M. Pollard), and they are to be congratulated on the result of their work. The programme was as follows: — Junior choir, folk songs, “0, No John,” “Little Sandman,” “Wonderful Inn”; driTi display, hoys; “Mickey Mouse,” John Morgan and ballet; operetta, “The Fairy Slipper,” M. Clarke, N. Edgar, C. Rose, O. Tappin, V. Durry, J. Buchanan, M. Cassie (principals) ; senior choir, “ The Lark in the Morn ” (folk song), “Who Is Sylvia,” (Schubert), “Away With Melancholy,” (Mozart); ballet, “ Horses and Jockeys hoys’ choir, “ Robin Adair,” “ Passing By” (Purcell), "The Lass with the Delicate Air” (Arne); Empire pageant, “ Marjory’s Empire Dream,” Nessie Peck, John Morgan, N. Jamieson, N. Edgar, E. M'Leod, W. Noy; J. Knew stubb (principals).
