Mr M. Newbury left for Christchurch by the express on Saturday. *Mr G. J. Reid left by the express on Saturday on his way to Wellington) Mr A. Clothier left by the North express on Saturday for Wellington. Mr J. Donaghey, etage manager for the J. C. Williamson Grand Opera Company, travelled north by the express on Saturday on his return to Australia. A cablegram from London announces the death of the one time well-known jockey “ Sammy ” Loates. Mr Eric M'Bride, who left for Australia, a few weeks ago, has received an appointment on the staff of the Kodak Company, Melbourne.
