THREE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS ■ ■ 1 (Per United Press Association.) TE AROHA, October 10. A burglar attempted early on Sunday morning to break into the Borough Council’s strongroom. An explosive was used, but the charge, in shattering the lock, jammed the bojt, and further attempts were abandoned. Entrance was also gained to the premises of Messrs H. Jackson and Co., auctioneers, and of Mr Peter Seine, merchant. Here, also, unsuccessful attempts W€Ki mode open the safes, the burglar being apparently an amateur, with crude equipment. . . . ..
