(Received Oct. 10, at 9 p.m.) The Homebush slaughtermen yielded the first, demand of the employers—that work be resumed under award conditions as a precedent to a conference between the parties being held later in the day. There was only a small yarding of sheep and cattle owing to uncertainty as to what may happen. WEDDING IN THE WILDS. GUESTS TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES. DARWIN, October 10. (Received Oct. 10, at 9.30 p.m.) At Helen Springs, a little bush maid, Miss Elsie Bohning, was married to Mr Fred Harris, of Maclaren Valley, Bethany, Lichfield. The bridesmaid travelled 700 miles to assist in the ceremony, and 30 guests motored from 30 to 700 miles for the occasion.
