TRADE WITH RUSSIA LIMITED CREDIT SYSTEM ADVOCATED. SYDNEY. August 27. Giving evidence before the Wool Committee, Mr John Oswald Forsyth .merchant) said that if the Federal Government made some arrangements to trade with Russia on a limited credit system such as that .operating in Great Britain it would benefit Australia to the extent of £5,000,000 a year. Mr Forsyth gave evidence in regard to markets for wool in China, Manchuria, and Russia. He said his knowledge had been gained by, personal experience in those three countries over a period of .14 years. Russia was a wool-growing country, jut it had a population of 160,000,000, which was increasing at the rate of 2J per cent, annually. She would never be in a position to supply her requirements in fine wool such as was grown in Australia.
