BOOKMAKER BECOMES ASTROLOGER FINE OF £2 IMPOSED. (Feu United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 20. “In 1929 he was fined for bookmaking, and in 1930 for playing crown and anchor, but now he has changed over to the planets that shine above,” said Detective-sergeant Kelly, when Donald Campbell, an elderly man, was charged with undertaking to tell fortunes. The police said the accused called himself Zingara, the Astrologist, and invited people to have fortunes told for 2s Od. All who applied got the same reading. The accused told the magistrate that he brought people happiness. Detective Kelly: Can you predict what the magistrate is going to fine you? The accused; Some of us see the faults of others, but are blind to our own. The accused was fined £2.
