LANCASHIRE DISPUTE
A CONFERENCE ARRANGED POSITION MORE HOPEFUL. i (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 24. (Received August 25, at 5.5 p.m.) The Deputy Mayor of Manchester stated to-day that certain misunderstandings in the Lancashire cotton dispute had been removed, making possible negotiations between the employers and men at a conference' to-morrow. He added that the position was hopeful and he trusted that a settlement would be reached shortly. ,
