LONDON TO CALCUTTA
LINER BEATS OVERLAND CAR LONDON, August 12. Captain Yates Benyon had only reached Quetta, 15,000 miles distant, when the Manora arrived at Calcutta. A race from London to Calcutta between the British-India liner Manora and a low-powered car driven by Captain T. Yates Benyon began on July 9. The latter travelled via Beirut, Damascus. and Bagdad.
