CHARGE OF SHOPLIFTING
TWO WOMEN ARRESTED GOODS STORED IN CAR (Pek United Press Association.) ROTORUA, July 4. Two women who visited Rotorua in a taxi on Saturday afternoon were arrested on a charge of theft from shops, and were brought before the court this moraine and remanded till Monday next. A bystander saw the women stowing things away under the seat of the car and told the police. Investigations led to the discovery of an amazing quantity of goods, including boots, shoes, stockings, skirts, and fancy goods. None of the shopkeepers noticed the thefts, but identified the goods at the station. Bail was allowed in each case in £25, with a surety of £25.
