The Commonwealth and Dominion Lino’s motor ship Port Gisborne berthed at Bluff early on Saturday morning from Port Chalmers. At Bluff the vessel will load 70.712 carcasses of frozen lamb, 128 casks of tallow, 91 bales of wool and 260 sacks of grass seed. She is limed to sail to-day for Lyttelton In continuation of Homeward loading. Goods loaded and discharged at Japanese ports during the first 11 months of 1931 aggregated 9,070,000 tons, as compared with 10.668.000 tons In the corresponding months of 1930, the decline being 15 per cent. The Union Company’s Island steamer Walpahl left Auckland on Saturday for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. The Walpahl Is due at Suva tomorrow and at Apia on June 23. She will return to Suva on June 28, and Is expected to reach Auckland again on July 5. En route from Sydney and Auckland to Los Angsles and San' Francisco, via Suva and Pago Pago, the Oceanic steamer Mariposa arrived at Suva last Friday morning. The vessel continued her voyage to Pago Pago In the afternoon, and Is due at Los Angeles on June 21. THE PORT FREMANTLE. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor, ship Port Fremantle, which arrived at Wellington on Sunday from Lpnd'on, was to sail yesterday for Lyttelton and New Plymouth to complete, discharge. She will then load at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. The vessel Is due at Auckland on July 7, and will be finally despatched for London about July 11. ■> WAINUI FROM MELBOURNE. The Union Company’s intercolonial steamer Wainul arrived at Dunedin yesterday morning from Melbourne, via Bluff, and was berthed at the cross wharf to discharge a quantity of general cargo. The freight Included transhipments ex the Otranto, Troja, and Nalgora. The Wainul sailed In the afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete discharge. She will leave Wellington on Saturday for Bluff and Melbourne. TANKER NEW ZEALAND. The tanker New Zealand, from San Pedro and Melbourne, arrived off the 1 Heads yesterday afternoon. She will enter port this morning and berth at the Victoria Wharf to discharge bulk motor spirit. The New Zealand will sail hence for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland to complete discharge. j VOCO FROM SAN FRANCISCO. Advice received by the Vacuum Oil Company states that the tanker Voco left San Francisco on May 27 with a cargo of bulk motor spirit for discharge at Melbourne, Lyttelton, and Dunedin She Is due at this port about July 3. ROTORUA LEAVES COLON. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rotorua, cn route from Wellington to London, left Colon on June 10. The vessel sailed from Wellington on. May 21. TANKER O. B. SORENSEN. The Shell Company advises that the tanker O. B. Sorensen is due at Dunedin on Friday from Singapore, via Auckland, to discharge bulk oil fuel. Tho Australian collier Balls Head is reported to have been sold to Eastern buyers. Tho Balls Head is a vessel of 1658 tons gross and 835 tons net She was built at Geestemundo in 1911 and was owned by the Coal and Bunkering Co., Ltd., of Sydney. Owing to the slackness in the coal trade the Balls Head has been tied up at Sydney for some considerable time. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., New Zealand ’agents for White Star Line and Associated Companies, have received advice that to take care of the large movement to Ireland for the Eucharistic Congress at Dublin In .June, the Red Star liner Lapland has been designated to proceed to Dublin and- anchor outside tho Kingston Harbour, to be used as a floating hotel for members of tho pilgrimage during tho congress. Tho Lapland, with a largo party of Eucharistic pilgrims, headed by Cardinal Daugherty. Archbishop of Philadelphia, will leave Now York on Juno 13, and call first at Cobh (Queenstown), where some members of tiio party will disembark for a sight-seeing trip by motor and rail to Dublin, and there join the ship again. After tho congress the Lapland will leave Dublin for Havre and continue her regular itinerary to Antwerp. The White Star liner Doric will carry a Eucharistic party from Montreal on June 10, and, like the Lapland, will anchor at Kingston to bo used'as an hotel for the members of the pilgrimage.
