THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL PROTEST BY ELECTED MEMBERS. . SUVA, June 9. The elected members of the Legislative Council protested against the Governor’s action. in increasing the salary of the Secretary for Native Affairs without reference to the council. The motion was lost on a block official vote. The elected members have cabled to the Secretary of State. Meanwhile the council has adjourned.
