FIXED DEPOSITS RATES ALTERATIONS ANNOUNCED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) .SYDNEY, June 8. (Received June 8, at 10 p.m.) The Commonwealth Bank announces that fixed deposits rates will be altered as from to-day, as follows:—24 months 34 per cent, per annum., which is a reduction of i per cent; 12 months, 3J per cent., which is a reduction of £ jjer cent.; six months, 3 per cent., which is unchanged; three months, 24 per cent., which is also unchanged. From July 1 the rates for advances will be fixed at a fiat rate of 5 per cent. The Commonwealth Bank thus comes into line with the trading banks which reduced their fixed deposits rates last month.
