CONCILIATION COUNCIL

FIRST CASE UNDER NEW LAW SETTLED ON FORMER CONDITIONS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 20. The first dispute in Auckland under the amended Arbitration Act was heard by the Conciliation Council to-day. The parties were the picture theatre proprietors and the the Picture Theatre Projectionists’ Union. Commissioner Hally presided. The dispute was filed early in April, hut proceedings were delayed pending the passing of the new legislation. A complete agreement covering practically the whole of the terms and conditions of the old award, was reached without difficulty. Wages remain unchanged, and there is no change in the conditions of employment.
