MEAT EXPORT TRADE
PRODUCERS’ BOARD’S PROPOSALS A MISCONCEPTION REMOVED (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 19. Mr D. Jones, chairman. of the Meat Producers’ Board, was. invited to attend a meeting of the Dominion executive, ot the Farmers’ Union yesterday in order to discuss the board’s proposals in connection with Imperial preference m view of the Ottawa Conference. Mr Jones stated that apparently there was some misconception as to what were the proposals of the board. The view had been expressed that there was a danger of the suggested quota limiting the quantity or meat exported from New Zealand .into the United Kingdom. Mr Jones pointed out that this was incorrect, aud that the proposals that the board supported, and which had been agreed to h/ the other dominions, w6re that New Zealand and other Empire countries would have freedom of entrance for all their supplies into Great Britain, and that a restriction should be placed on foreign importations. ■
