BOY FOUND DROWNED A boy named Bryan Robert Bamber, aged four years, the son of a railway porter at Port Chalmers, was found drowned off the Bowen pier at Port Ohal-' rhers yesterday afternoon. He was seen .playing on the Beach road at about 3 p.m., but his subsequent movements are not known, and about an hour later his body was seen floating in the water off the Queen’s Drive Boating Club’s shed. The "body -was then drifting towards the basin, and was recovered by a boat when about 150 yards -from the Bowen pier. The boy had then evidently been in the water for some time, and when Dr Edgar arrived on the scene he could only pronounce life to be extinct. An inquest will be held at Port Chalmers to-day. FALL FROM BICYCLE A "young man named Honi Patton, aged 21 years, single, residing at 11 Victoria street, was admitted to the Hospital at 5.35 p.m, yesterday suffering from injuries to his head, left arm and back, • received as the result of falling from his bicycle in Fca street, Pino -Hill. His condition is not serious. KILLED BY MOTOR TRUCK (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 10. Norman George SSailer, aged 50, a married man, was killed instantly this morning when he was knocked off his cycle by a motor truck belonging to a Chinese and driven by Oscar Ernest Fletcher, at the corner of Rcmuera road and Dilworth avenue. The accident occurred about 7.30 a.m. Both Shailer s legs were broken and he suffered other injuries. He lived at Dominion road. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR CAR A man named Carline Idour, single, residing at 253 Cargill road, was admitted to the Hospital at 11.50 p.m. yesterday with an injury to, his right hip, caused through being knocked down by a motor car at the corner of Cargill and Reid roads. The injury is not of a serious nature.
