The curfew order and the presence of British troops, armoured cars, and constant police patrolling had a salutary effect on the Bombay rioting yesterday, and the night was uneventful; but there was a revival of lawlessness this morning. Four people were killed and 50 injured, making a total of 80 dead and 870 injured. Hindu and Moslem crowds again clashed in several localities, the police and troops firing on the hooligans. The streets are littered with riot debris. Hundreds of gas lamps are brpken. CLASHES IN INDUSTRIAL QUARTER DEATH ROLL OVER A HUNDRED. CALCUTTA, May 19. , (Received May 19, at 10.40 p.m.) The riot is spreading from the residential and shop areas to the industrial northern quarter of the city, where thousands of 'workers, rendered idle by the closing of 40 cotton mills, frequently clashed with the troops.
