Burnside, May 18. Fat Cattle.—A fairly large yarding of 280 head was yarded. The entry comprised two or three trucks of heavy bullocks, the balance being medium steers, a few prime heifers, and a good proportion of light to medium cows. The market opened firm for prime quality, but unfinished descriptions were neglected, and low rates had to be accepted for this class. The sale was fairly steady throughout, the last race being well up to opening rates. Quotations: Extra heavy bullocks, to £ll 12s Gd; prime bullocks. £8 to £10; medium, £6 to £7 10s; light, from £4 upwards; prime heifers and cows, £5 to £6 12s 6d; medium, £4 to £5; inferior, from £2 10s upwards.
