RURAL CREDITS BOARD

SMALL ARREARS OF INTEREST . A SATISFACTORY POSITION. (Per' United Press Association.l WELLINGTON. May 17. At the meeting of the Rural Intermediate Credits Board the commissioner presented a return of arrears of interest and instalments ns at March 31 last. It was stated that now that the production season has closed a comprehensive review of' the accounts shows that the position generally is sound, the number of accounts giving cause for concern being small in comparison with the board’s total business. The board is arranging for a conference to be held at Palmerston North on June 14, at which representatives from the Rural Intermediate Credits Associations operating in Taranaki, Wanganui. Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa districts will be present. Consideration was given to the policy to bo adopted in respect of insurances over wool and crops where the board holds security over such wool and crops. It was decided where the board attaches importance to such security that it would insist on insurance being effected over wool from shearing until it leaves the farms and over/ crops from harvesting until they leave the farms.
