An interesting revelation is made , by the Charity Organisation Society in Melbourne about a recent will case, winch attracted much attention. A testator left 2s 6d to his wife from an estate valued at more than £6OOO. He yas described as an investor; he was, in fad, a blind mendicant, who had occupied the some position in a busy street in Melbourne for many years. As the £6OOO accrued, over and above the ordinary expenses of providing for a home and family, it is evident that a large sum is givcu away annually by the public in this way. The society quotes the case as an argument against indiscriminate chanty. Another blind man occupies the position which has proved so profitable.
