GOOD TEMPLARY

The weekly meeting of' the Rescue -Lodge, .No. 105, was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street,. Kensington, on Tuesday, when ■ Bro. James Hilton, C.T., presided over a good attendance of members and visitors from sister lodges. Correspondence was received from, -the grand secretary, also from the Dis- - trict Lodge Executive in connection, with “ Come to Dunedin ” Week. _ A great . loss was sustained by the lodge in the passing awav of Bfo.. D. C. Cameron, who, although unable to take an active part, was keenly interested in the work. of th*lodge, of. which he was a member. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late brother, all present standing in silence. The election'of officers for the coming quarter wap,held, and the following officers were installed by the L.D., assisted by Sisters Mrs Giles and Mrs Pauli, as installing marshals:— C.T., Bro. James Hilton: Y.T., Sister Mr* M'Millan; F.S., Sister T, Pauli; chaplain. Sister Brooks, jun.; marshal. Sister M. M'Farlane; secretary, Sister M. Dougal; guard, Bro. -M'Millan; sentinel, Sister R» Barnes. The weekly meeting of .theSunsluua Junior Lodge, No. 4, was held in the St. Andrew’s Church Sunday School Hall,. Bridgman street, Kensington, on Thursday, when there was a good attendance of members, which was presided over by this C.T. ’ (Sister J. Cameron). That th* membership competition is being taken up keenly is shown by the addition of thre* new members at this meeting. After th* routine business was carried Out a pleasant time was spent ih competitions, th* y.T.’s team being announced'the winner* in miniature bowls and the.C.T.’s team carried off the honour* in basketball. The usual ceremonies were conducted at th* close of the session._ The Trades Hall was filled to overflowing on Wednesday evening when th* coronation of Queen Dot, of the Hope of . Dunedin Lodge, was carried out. Bro. E., South . presided, and the following programme was rendered:—Sis. Edna Wright, song; Miss Botting, steel guitar; M* Abbott, : comic song; Miss Frances Anthony, recitation; Sis. Audrey M'Ariy, dance; Sis. Mavis, Rayner, song; Sis. Mavis Rowe, dance; , Bro; Jack Rowe, song; Sis. Nellie Egan, dance; playlet, “Coffee Stall,” Silver Star Juveniles;. Sis Jean and Sis. Helen Thomson, duet; Bro. Jim Flett, dance; Bro. C. South and Bro. L. Booth, mouth organ duet; Sis. Jean Brown, dance. Bro. Gore gav* a short address, and the second half of the programme was devoted to the coronation. The queen was Sis. Dot Mason, of the Hope of Dunedin' Lodge, and the princess was'Sis.'Nellie Paterson, of th* Star of Freedom Lodge, the retinue being comprised of sisters and brothers ' trom both lodges. Bro. George Strode acted -as master of ceremonies and Bro. E, J. South as lord high chancellor. A number of members of both lodges was knighted, and Mr Abbott; who was court jester, kept the crowd thoroughly amused. The Radiant Morn. Juvenile Temple held its weekly meeting in the Mornington Methodist Sunday School Hall on Saturday last, Chief Templar Bro. Mason presiding over: va large attendance of members. Superintendent Bro. W. G.. . lies was .in charge. The programme for the evening was in the hands of i>ro. G. lies, and consisted of a recitation and song competition. The following entered for the song competition:—Sis. J. Knight and Bros. H. White, L. Munroe, and W. Easson, the Winners being Bro. H. White 1 and Sis. J. Knight 2. Sisters J. Fraser, M. Burgess, H. Tait. and M.-Brown-en-tered for the recitatmn competition. Sisters M, Brown and M. Burgess being declared. tbc ; winners. A vote of thanks wps accorded to Bro.
