OTAGO RUGBY LEAGUE

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the Otago Rugby Football League was held Inst evening, Mr T. M. Gillies in the chair. An inquiry was held concerning the action of the referee (Mr T. M’Donald) in ordering W. Williams (City) and N. Mackey (Pacific) off the field during the progress *of a match on Saturday. The investigation was conducted in committee, and the chairman announced subsequently that the action of the referee had been approved, and that it bad been decided that the players concerned should be stood down for the remainder of the second round. It was reported by the Grounds Committee that the ground at Logan Park was not fit for play on Saturday next, and it was decided that the match between City and Athletic set down for that ground should be played on the Stadium ground. Mr Holloway reported that T. Schmclz, a member of the Christian Brothers team, was still suffering from an injury received in a recent game. Schmelz was anxious to return to work, but would not resume playing until be was fully recovered. SATURDAY’S GAMES. The following is the draw for Saturday’s games in the Ellis Cup competition: City v jAthletic, at the Stadium (3 p.m.), Mr G. Packer; Christian Brothers v. Pacific, at the Oval (3 p.m.), Mr T. M’Donnld.
