ALEXANDRA NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA, May 16. The following are the results of the football matches in Central Otago on Saturday Juniors: Moa Creek 6, Alexandra B nil; Lowburn 9, Wanaka nil; Matakanui 3, Bannockburn nil. In Tuapeka County the matches resulted: Coal Crcpk 9, Ettrick 3; Roxburgh 3, Miller’s Flat nil. BUSINESS PREMISES BURGLED. The first burglary in Alexandra for some years took place in the early hours of Saturday morning, when the shop of Mr H. G. Scott, a men’s and boys’ outfitter, -was broken into. The thief apparently entered the building through a window. As far as can be gathered £5 in cash was all that was removed. During the day Constable Sorrell arrested a young man on suspicion. PERSONAL. In view of her approaching marriage and departure from Alexandra Miss lere Gillett, who has been prominently associated with the Girl Guide movement, was met in the Town Hall at a social held in her honour by the Guides and Brownies. The youngest Brownie, Joan Manson, presented Miss Gillett with a box containing a handkerchief and a note from each Brownie. The honours peculiar to the Guide movement were also paid to her.
