OTAGO HUNT CLUB
OPENING MEET AT SEA VIEW., There was a splendid attendance of followers at Saturday’s meet of the Otago Hunt Club, which was the first for the 1932 season. Some 37 horses were present, which constitutes a record for an opening meet. The followers met at the Waterloo Hotel, and then rode to Seaview, where the hunt took place over the property of Mr Thomas Paterson. On account of the recent heavy rains, the ground was very soft, and the hunt officials decided to make the run as short as possible. Nevertheless, some very good jumping was witnessed. Miss Stella Thomas, who was following for the first time, gave a splendid performance, handling her mount as well as any of the more experienced riders. Other riders following for the first time who also gave a good account of themselves were: Messrs A. Rackley on Red Art and R. James on Bonny, the display of the latter rider being exceptionally good. There were some 30 cars at the meet, and all were loaded with interested spectators. The club officials have been very fortunate .in securing some excellent runs for this season, so those interested in hunting are assured of some sport. At the conclusion of the run those present were the guests of the wife of the deputy-master at tea. Those present at the meet were: —The master (Mr J. N.
