PRESENTATIONS AT COURT NEW ZEALANDERS INCLUDED. LONDON, May 12. (Received May 12, at 7 p.m.) , The presentations at Court to-day included the New Zealanders Mesdames Roderick Anderson, Denis , Balcombe, Brown, Lennox, Gordon,. Grenfell,. Morgan, Francis Clark, and lan Mackillop, and Misses Isobel Wilford, Inda Myers, Annie Clarkson, Biddy Philcox, Margaret Rorritt, and Joyce ToUmrst. For the first time at a Court all the gowns were of British-made material and design.. This was due to the Queen’s special request. She herself set the.exanlple, wearing a lovely embroidered gown of silver and gold, with a train of Irish lace.
There was the usual assembly of the motor cars of 400 * debutantes in the Mall, where a fine evening enabled Londoners to enjoy the parade of English beauty and fashion. White, pink, and pale lettuce green were the dominant colours. Some of the loveliest frocks were made of Nottingham lace, and were singularly beautiful against a * background of red roses, laburnum, and deepcoloured hydrangeas, which were banked around the . State apartments. The King, wore the scarlet and gold uniform of Colonel-in-chief of the Scots Guards, with a crepe arm band.
