BOXING

NEW SOUTH WALES TITLES. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY. May 9. (Received May 10, at 0.33 a.in.) At the Sydney Stadium in a contest for the middle-weight championship and the Lord Beauchamp Belt Fred Hannaberry (11.3)' retained his title on a foul in the tenth round against Bob Thornton (11.2). The contest was uninspiring, Thornton holding his own very well in spasmodic clashes. It will be recalled that Hannaberry won the championship from Ambrose Palmer in the same manner. The crowd to-night was not at all satisfied that he was fouled, and indulged in vigorous hooting. . The State light-weight championship was also decided, Bluey Jones outpointing Billy Kelso in a 10-round contest.
