ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
At the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association, held last night, Mr J. Simpson presided. The secretary of the New Zealand Football Association wrote stating that the closing date of entries for the Chatham Cup Competition had been extended to May 14. The Port Chalmers Club forwarded an entry for the Chatham Cup. The secretary of the New Zealand Football Association wrote stating that the Canterbury team would be in Dunedin to play the Otago team for the Football Association trophy on June 11. The Radio Broadcasting Board wrote: “You will be aware that the board has been in existence only since January, and cannot, therefore, be held responsible for anything prior to that date. The position was fully considered on the receipt of the committee’s previous letter, and the decision to carry out broadcasts of Rugby football was reached in the belief that such broadcasts were likely to prove of interest to a large section of listeners.”—The letter was received, and the matter left in abeyance. The City Council advised that the association would be granted the use of Ellis Park for the season at the usual charge of £5, with £1 for marking lines and erecting posts. The secretary of the Technical Old Boys’ Club wrote drawing attention to the pilfering that is going on in the Oval pavilion. Clothing and boots had been taken away. Players removed their valuables and gave them to somebody on the ground. It was a high state of affairs if the same thing had to be done with their clothes. Was it possible for the club to have a key to lock up the room? It was also asked how many teams could use one room.—lt was decided to write to the City Council asking it to place several lockers in each of the two rooms used bv Association teams.
It was resolved to request junior teams to start their matches promptly on time as other matches had to follow. MATCHES FOR SATURDAY. First Division.—Mosgiel v.
