L. E. Macassey, referee in the Alham-bra-Taieri senior match wrote stating that he had cautioned J. Frood (Alhambra) and A. Burt (Taieri) for misconduct. —It was decided to ask the referee for details regarding the offence. G. P. Roberts was granted a transfer from the Hutt Club to the Pirates Club, R, L. After the game a team is to be selected to play a match against a Southland team. The writers of the letters desired to know if the Otago Union intended to pay the expenses of the players who assemble at Alexandra. —lt was decided to notify the writers that the Otago Union intended to pay the expenses of the team only when it went to Invercargill. The expenses of the men selected to play at Alexandra would have to be paid by the various sub-unions. It ivas pointed out, however, that a good gate should be expected at Alexandra. The ball had been kicked over the dead ball line and was picked up by two children and thrown back into play. A Pirates’ player immediately rushed forward and scored a try. The Brighton full-back is prepared to vouch for this. Several spectators, including myself, were also witnesses. This was not the first time the ball had been interfered with. The referee had previously cautioned one man for handling the ball.”—lt was pointed out, that the referee’s decision on fact wag final, and that his ruling must stand. It was also decided to refund the protest fee of £1 Is.
