THE WAITAKI HOSPITAL BOARD
[Advt.]
TO THE EDITOR. Sin, —The record of careers of candidates for the Waitaki Hospital Board, published in to-day’s issue, does scant justice to the Rev. A. H. Nordmeyer, 8.A.,, Dip.Soc.Sc. Of all the candidates seeking election, the reverend gentleman, by virtue of hjs eminent educational attain-, ments, including superb organising ability, power of logical and forceful speech, familiarity with statutes relative to local body government, and marked capacity of perspicacity, is easily the most comP 1 a close student of social and economic problems, as well as international affairs affecting our Empire m general and New Zealand’in particular, he has won the admiration of all those whose fortune it has been to come in close association with his brilliant personality. It should be remembered that when Mr Malcolm MacDonald, the son of the present Prime Minister of Great' Britain, visited New Zealand a few years ago. as the leader of a debiting team, Mr Nordmeyer was one of those chosen by the Otago University to uphold the traditions ot Alma Mater, and so able was his speech on the Singapore base question that he was heartily congratulated by the leading men of Dunedin. ~. . „ ... The electors of the Waitaki Hospital Board have an opportunity of securing the services of one of our most intellectual young men possessing sound natural judgment on all sociological questions. ‘ When we consider the nature ot the precarious times through which we are passing, with the accompanying complexity of the problems, we cannot but, realise the necessity for the enlistment of the best intellects. —I am, etc., M acred a.
