PORT CHALMERS NEWS
CRICKET CLUB The Port Chalmers Cricket Club held a very successful smoke concert on Thursday evening, when, besides a good attendance of members, there was present a delegation from Dunedin. The president (Mr W. Corbett) was in the chair, and the visitors from Dunedin included the president of the Otago Cricket Association (Mr J. M. Fraser), and Messrs W. A. Rowland, F. T. Badeock, and Dr Moore. Toasts were honoured as follows: “Otago Cricket Association ’ (Mr Mid-dleton-Mr Fraser); “Port Chalmers Cricket Club” (Dr Moore-Mr Sinclair, club captain); “The Umpires Association” (Mr A. Galland-Mr Rowland); “The Hon. Secretary. Mr T. B. Wilson ’ (Mr Sinclair-Mr Wilson). Mr Rowland proposed the toast of * 4 Kindred Sports, which was responded to as follows; Rugby, Mr Rouse; Rowing, Mr Neil son; Yachting, Mr Anderson; Association t ootball Mr Culbert; Bowling, Mr Middleton. Dicing the evening items were contributed bv Messrs Batnbcry, Brown (2), Madigan, Johnson, Neilson, and Erridge.
