RECHABITES
The fortnightly meeting of the Hope of Dunedin Tent was held on Monday evening in the Embassy Salon. C.R. Sis. 34, K. Gain presided, and there was a fair number of members and visitors. The sick list was smaller than it had been for some time past, and payment was granted to those who were still indisposed. Preparatory to the forthcoming Initiation Competition, the officers rehearsed the ceremony with good effect. D.G. Bro. A. V. Gain reported on the district officers’ meeting recently held in Wellington, and thereafter delivered the lecture on the Emblem of the Order. At the conclusion of the business the sisters formed a committee to finalise arrangements for the “ Sisters’ Surprise,” which is set down on the syllabus for next meeting night. The Crystal Spring Juvenile Tent held its first meeting for the year on Wednesday evening in the Caversham Methodist Hajl. C.R. Bro. Vincent Gain occupied the chair, and presided over a good attendance of members. Four candidates were initiated and other propositions were received. Prov. C.R. Sis. Verngreen installed the officers as follows: —C.R., Sis. Joyce Carrington. D.R., Sis. Winnie Gerrie Adam; levite, Sis. Audrey Brown; fuard, Bro. Lindsay Gerrie; past C.R., ro. Vincent Gain. It was announced that the Tent in future would be conducted by Sis, A. R, Verngreen and M. Eae, who were then introduced to the members as their new superintendents. After the usual business was transacted a pleasant hour was spent in games. At the fortnightly meeting of the Star of the South Tent, held on February 17, Chief Ruler Bro. Stanley presided. One new sister member wasjnitiated into the Order and officially welcomed. The quarterly balance sheet submitted by the treasurer showed a financial improvement as compared with that for the same period of last year. It was the desire of the meeting to see a larger attendance of members, and with this end in view it was decided that special efforts should be made to encourage members to take an active interest in the meetings. After the general business had been dispensed with, a social hour was spent in progressive table tennis.
