THE COALITION PARTIES

A JOINT CAUCUS COMPLETE UNANIMITY REPORTED. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, February 24. The first joint caucus of the parties to the Coalition was held this evening, when the legislative programme for the session was reviewed and the altitude of the Government members defined. The Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes) said at midnight that complete unanimity existed among members regarding the steps so far announced for the handling of the economic situation, and there was no dissension in the ranks. The parties were working amicably together in the common interest of getting through the business of Parliament, and all members had been accounted for. Mr Forbes added in reply to a question that it had not yet been necessary to take steps to curtail speeches, but the subject might be raised later.
