LONDON DEATH DRAMA MAN’S SUICIDE. A man murdered a young woman with a razor and then inflicted fatal injuries ou himself under an arch leading from Villicrs street. Charing Cross, to Craven street. The tragedy took place within 200 yards of the crowded Strand. The woman was identified as Mrs Dulcie Ray, aged 33, of Ethelred street, Kennington. The couple were seen talking under the arch when suddenly the woman screamed, ran a few yards, and collapsed, with blood running from a wound in the throat. " The man ran after her, but fell to the ground by her side. He, too, had a severe throat wound. An ambulance was called, and the couple were taken to Charing Cross Hospital. The woman was dead,' and the man died shortly after admission. The proprietor of a restaurant near the arch told a Daily Express representative that the couple had been friends for about a year, and used to meet nightly at the restaurant. Last’ night they met as usual shortly before 9 o’clock, and appeared to bo on very affectionate terms. “ They were known as the * Love Birds,’ ” the restaurant proprietor said. “ I have never seen a more devoted pair. There was nothing- strange in their ways to-night. They had a light meal and then left.
“ They had hardly gone a minute when I heard screams, and soon afterwards the couple were found dying.” The man was between 40 and 45 years of age. Both were poorly dressed.
