ROTORUA RACING CLUB
POSTPONED AFTER SECOND RACE (Per United Press Association.) ROTORUA, February 13. The Rotorua races opened in wet weather, but there was a very fair attendance. The rain had not time to sink in, but the track was very slippery. Wako King came down in the first race and bruised N. Syme’s leg. Transaction fell in the second race, but the rider (T. Rowan) was not injured. The judicial stewards then decided to postpone the meeting until Monday, and the investments were returned. The second day will be on Tuesday. After deliberation, the stewards decided to cancel all scratchings from and including the Mokoia Handicap (the third race) onwards. Results:— ■ PHOUTU HIGH-WEIGHT HANDICAP, Of lOOsovs. One mile. 1— GREAT EMBLEM. 9.12 (H. Dulieu) I 4—GOOD IDEA, 9.11 (M’Crae) ' 2 2 PATEENA, 9.3 (L. Dulieu) 3 Also started: 5 Wako King 9.3, 6 Homelight, 3 Welcome Boy 9.0. Wako King fell. Won by a neck. Time, Imin 46Jsec. WAIMANGU STAKES. 3 LONDON (G. Conner) .. 1 1— SILENE (A Gilmer) .. 2 2 LAST LAP (H. Tinker) 3 Also started: 5 Valorous Knight (R. Vincent), 6 Lady Ruthven, 4 Transaction. The last-named fell. Won by a head. Time, Imin 18sec.
