MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, there being present Messrs N. C. Kensington (chairman), D. M'Lennan. M. A. Kinney, G. Livingstone, and J. R. M'Ciilloch. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. David Thompson, of Queenstown, applied for a renewable lease over section 6, block I, mid-Wakatipu S.D. (69a lr 30p).—Renewable lease granted at an animal rental of £1 Bs. Miscellaneous license No. 3690 not to be renewed as from December 31, 1931. . . C. G. Davies applied for a mining district land occupation lease over section 114, block I, St. Bathans S.D. (21a .lr lOp).—-Mining district land occupation lease granted at an annual rental of £l. The Clutha County Council applied to purchase section 45. block I, Pomahaka S.D., containing lr 38p.—Area to be disposed of to the Clutha County Council at a price of £5. . , Mrs C. M. Courtier and Patrick 0 Connor applied for a lease over lot: 3 and part of lot 5 of section 1, block XLVTII, Tokomairiro S.D. (6a Or 20p).—Right to occupy was granted to Mrs C. M. Courtier on the usual conditions at an annual rental of 10s. David Jones, of Cambrian, applied for a mining district land occupation lease over section 120, block I, St. Bathans S.D. (5a 22p).—Mining district land occupation lease granted at an annual rental of £1 - . , . . Mrs Catherine Knarston, of iaien Mouth, applied for a lease over section 1 of 47. block VI, Clarendon S.D. (area 30a).—Education reserve lease for a term of 21 years granted at an annual rental of £2 ss. (Note: Improvements belong to applicant.) The Vincent County Council applied to purchase section 2, town of Omakau (area 02.25p).—Recommended for the approval of the Minister of -Lands that the section be disposed of to the Vincent County Council under section 158 of the Land Act, 1924; at a price of £5. Run 665, St. Bathans (1205 a). previously known as St; Bathans Commonage, was open for selection on pastoral license at an annual rental of £35, and applica l tions closed on January 11.—-Seven applications were received, and, after the applicants were examined by the board, a ballot was held, Mr W. Johnsen being successful. DISPOSAL OF LAND.
The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the disposal of sections 48 and 49, block I. Pomahaka S.D., comprising 2a. 2r 12p and lr 32p respectively.—Owing to unsuitability for separate holdings the sections to be disposed of under section 152 of the Laud Act. 1924, section 48 at an upset of £2O, weighted with valuation for improvements £IOB. and section 49 at upset of £5, weighted with valuation for improvements, £l. The' commissioner submitted for consideration the disposal of 17 sections in the town of Havelock, ranging in areas from la 3r to 24a 2r 27p, being Crown land previously known as the Havelock Commonage.—Sections to be offered for selection on mining district land occupation lease at capital values and annual rentals submitted; the Tuapeka County Council,, with permission of the commissioner of Crown Lands, to be allowed reasonable ingress and egress through section 2 and 3, block XXXIV. for removal of gravel from river bed. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the disposal of pastoral license on runs 666 and 667, Naseby, areas 894 a 2r Op and 1142 a respectively. and the disposal of mining district land occupation lease of sections 84. 85, 86, 88, 89, 90, block I, Naseby S.D., ranging in areas from 106 a 2r 2lp to 156 a 2r 27p.—Huns to be offered on pastoral license and sections on mining district land occupation lease at rentals as submitted, with preference to miners in the locality as far as the sections are concerned. RENEWAL OF LEASES.
J. Swann applied for a renewal of his occupation lease over sections 17 and 30, block V, Cromwell S.D., area 98a 3r 33p.—Lessee to be offered a renewal of Ins occupation lease at a rental of £9 18s pc: annum. Mrs J. Sutherland applied for a renewal of her occupation lease over section 31, block 11, Cromwell S.U., area IS a 2r 20p.—Lessee to be offered a renewal of her occupation lease at a rental of 13s per annum. Mrs M. Hayes applied for a renewal of her occupation lease over section 93, block I, Teviot S.D., area 47a 2r 20p.~ Lessee to be Offered a renewal of her occupation lease at a rental of £2 8a per annum. , J. H. George applied for a renewal of his occupation lease over section 101, block I, Teviot S.D., area Ba—Lessee to be offered a renewal of his occupation lease at a rental of £1 8a per annum. The application of Mrs N. Kelly for a renewal of her occupation lease over section 67. block 1, Fraser S.D.. area 12a 3r, was held over. PERMISSION TO OCCUPY. James Cutler, jun., applied for permission to occupy bush reserve adjoining section 7, block V, Table Hill S.D., together with Crown land between the Tokomairiro River and sections 7 and 23, area 200 acres, at present held by William Ridley.—Miscellaneous license 3700 concelled and permission granted to James Cutler, jun., to occupy from year to year at an annual rental of £1 10s. CONCELLATION OF LICENSE. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the cancellation of miscellaneous license 3532, held by the Clydevale Sale Yards Society, Ltd., over section 48, block I, Pomahaka S.D., area 2a 2r 12p.—License not to be renewed as from January 13, 1932. DISBURSEMENT OF IMPROVEMENT MONEYS. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the disbursement of improvement moneys, £l2, paid by the purchaser of the lease of section 2 of 5, block VI, Hillend S.D., recently disposed of at auction.—Twelve pounds to be paid to the credit of rent outstanding under education reserve lease No. 2041. TRANSFERS. The transfer of section 74, block I, Highlay S.D., 40a 3r 34p, from Mary Ann Elsom to James Joseph F/ Elsom, was recommended for the approval of the Minister of Lands. The transfer of section 84, block 1, Highlay S.D., 4a lr 35p, from Mary Ann Elsom to James Joseph F. 1 Elsom, was recommended for the approval of the Minister of- Lands. /• REGISTRATION OF ASSIGNMENT. Run 2481. Taieri and Maniototo, 7670 a, —Daniel Thomas Weir and James Cochrane Weir to William D. Rutherford.— Registration approved, subject to payment of amounts outstanding.
