FIGHTING IN MANCHURIA
HEAVY JAPANESE LOSSES SURROUNDED BY BANDITS (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) TOKIO, January 12. (Received Jan. 12, at 11.30 p.m.) Fierce fighting continues west of the Liao River, and several Japanese detachments have been wiped out. They were surrounded by well-eqnipped bandits, who are destroying the railways to prevent the arrival of reinforcements.
