MEETING OF ASSOCIATION A meeting of the committee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held in Mr E. S. Wilson’s boardroom last night, when there were present: Messrs R. Phillipps (chairman), Miss White, Messrs T. Begg, J. A. Pearce, G. Hewitt, E. D. Duthie, R. Jack, T. Grimsdale, S. N. Brown, W. J. MTnnes, and K. Webling, The Tuapeka Sub-association wrote asking permission to hold its annual tournament at Easter.—The request was granted. The South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association wrote suggesting February 20 as the date for the match against Otago.— Held over until the next meeting. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association wrote submitting the itinerary of the New South Wales ladies’ team. The visitors will arrive at 6,23 p.m. on Thursday evening and will depart by the 11.35 a.m. express on Monday. An official morning tea will be held at 10,30 a.m. in the Tudor Hall on Friday. A social function will be held on Saturday evening and a motor drive on Sunday afternoon. The following players have been selected to represent Otago:—Misses Partridge, Pattison, Calver, and White. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association wrote in connection with the Anthony Wilding Memorial Shield match to be played in Christchurch on January 15 and 16.,. The secretary reported that the Selection Committee had selected the following team to represent the Otago-South-land-South Canterbury-North Otago group in this contest:—W. G. Robertson (Timaru). S. G. M'Dougall (Otago), G. A. Pearoe (Otago), and G. Sumpter (Oamaru). Mr Phillipps. stated that he regretted that the association was losing the services of one of its vice-presidents. Mr K. Webling, who was being transferred to Wellington. Mr Webling had been one of the hardest workers in connection with the laying down of the courts at Logan Park, and had proved a valuable member of the association in many ways and would be greatly missed by the members of the association. They desired Mr Webling to accept a silver-mounted walking stick as a slight token of the esteem in which he was held by the members of the association. Mr A. M'Millan and Mr T. Begg also endorsed the remarks of the president. Mr Webling feelingly responded, and thanked the members for the gift, and wished the association every success in the future.

FORTHCOMING CONTESTS WELLINGTON REPRESENTATIVES. (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 11. The following. have been selected to represent the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association in the Wilding Shield and Nunneley Casket competitions, to be played at Auckland; — Wilding Shield team —N. R. C. Wilson, D. G. France, A. L. France, E. A. Roussell. Nunnelev Casket —Miss Dulcie Nicholls. Mrs H. M. Dykes, Miss Doris Howe, Mrs D. G. France (nee Brady). AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S TEAM (Per United Press Association. 1 TIMARU, January 11. The touring Australian women lawn tennis players appeared in a number of exhibition games here to-day. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance. The Australians were much too good for the local players, giving clever displays which were greatly appreciated. They will leave for Invercargill to-morrow.
