AS GOOD AS A PROPOSAL. A rather novel Christmas present was received by a good-natured old bachelor in a Wellington boarding house. Right through the year he had been the neverfailing source of supply of free “ Baxter’s ” for the benefit of his suffering fellow-boarders. One lady of uncertain age, who was thought to take undue advantage of his generosity, made amends by presenting him with a “ family size ” bottle of Baxter's Lung Preserver on Christmas Day. “As good as a proposal,” said the wag’ of the house. “ Baxter’s ” should be in every household all the year round, ready to deal effectively with coughs, colds, hoarseness, and throat afflictions, and as a safeguard against influenza. . .
