TRADE TREATIES
AUSTRALIA AND CANADA REVISION NOT CONTEMPLATED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA, January 8. (Received Jan. 10, at 5.5 p.m.) The Australian Government, through its Trade Commissioner in Canada (Mr MacGregor), advised the Canadian Government that the cable message from Canberra creating the impression that the Australian Government was proposing to revise the Canadian-Australian trade agreement gave an erroneous impression. He stated that a Cabinet subcommittee had been appointed to prepare for the Imperial Economic Conference at Ottawa in the summer. NEW ZEALAND AND CANADA. NEGOTIATIONS CONCLUDED HONOLULU, January 9. (Received Jan. 10, at 7 p.m.) The Canadian-New Zealand treaty negotiations have been concluded, but are subject to ratification by both Parliaments. It is understood that the terms of the agreement are likely to be productive of an extensive development of trade both ways. Details are not available. Mr W. Downie Stewart and Mr H. H. Stevens, in a joint announcement, state that the details must await parliamentary ratifications. A fine spirit of friendlessness had been maintained throughout the discussions. DETAILS OF TREATY. PARTIAL DISCLOSURE EXPECTED VANCOUVER, January 9. (Received Jan. 10, at 8 p.m.) The terms of the New Zealand trade agreement are expected to be at least partially disclosed when Mr Stevens arrives here on January 18.
